Texas State University’s Project LEARN-Chile is proud to announce the 100K Strong-Gabriela Mistral Scholars. These 18 scholars are Ph.D. in Education students studying School Improvement or Adult, Professional & Community Education at the university. Competitively selected from a larger applicant pool, the scholars are funded by the 100K Strong Innovation Fund to participate in educational research as service learning in Chile in the Fall 2015 semester. Their empirical research study, designed through the Seminar in International Educational Research, investigates multiple forms of public pedagogy in Chile through transnational fieldwork.

The Leadership and Educational Action Resource Network (LEARN): Binational Graduate Student Collaboration for Educational Improvement in Chile project (Project LEARN-Chile) implements a transnational research and learning opportunity for doctoral students in education at Texas State University. Participants will collaborate with doctoral students at our partner universities in Chile, Universidad Alberto Hurtado and Universidad Diego Portales, in a research as service learning initiative. The project will occur via a doctoral seminar course in the Fall 2015 semester and involves travel to Chile in November, 2015. The 18 100K Strong-Gabriela Mistral Scholars selected from the Ph.D. in Education program (School Improvement or Adult, Professional & Community Education majors are welcome), have received travel awards to participate in research fieldwork and mutual learning in Chile.
